Rashmika Mandanna Breaks Silence After “Freak Accident”
After days of speculation and growing concern among fans, Rashmika Mandanna has finally addressed the injury that forced her off social media and away from the sets of her upcoming film Mysaa. In a candid Instagram post, the actress revealed the extent of the injury, how it happened, and where things currently stand with her recovery.
What Happened
Rashmika revealed that she suffered a serious hip injury while filming an intense dance sequence for Mysaa, which she described as the most physically demanding film of her career so far. According to her explanation, there are four tendons on each side of the hip connecting it to the leg, and one of the tendons on her right hip detached during the shoot. As a result, the tendon now needs time to properly heal and reattach before she regains full range of movement, including the ability to comfortably lift her leg.
Despite the seriousness of the injury, Rashmika struck a reassuring tone with fans, noting that while it hurts, the pain isn’t unbearable. She added a touch of humour to the update as well, joking that the enforced break felt almost like the universe stepping in to force her to slow down — something she admitted she would never choose to do on her own.
Her Third Injury In A Row
Perhaps the most striking part of Rashmika’s update was her admission that this marks her third injury in succession. Reflecting on the pattern, she said the experience has made her realise she needs to start treating her body like a human body rather than a machine — a comment that speaks to just how physically punishing her recent run of projects, including the intense action sequences for Mysaa, has been.
She also explained why she’d stayed away from social media for a stretch of time, saying she had initially hoped to keep the injury private before deciding her fans deserved an honest update.
Life During Recovery
Along with her note, Rashmika shared a series of photos offering a glimpse into how she’s been spending her recovery period — including selfies, moments with her pet dogs, puzzle-solving sessions, desserts, and a bouquet of get-well wishes from well-wishers. She candidly admitted that staying away from her usual intense workout and running routine has been one of the toughest parts of the recovery process, joking that when she can’t work out, she compensates by turning into what she called a “dessert monster.”
About Mysaa
Mysaa marks a significant milestone in Rashmika Mandanna’s career, as it is her first female-led, pan-India action project. Directed by debutant Rawindra Pulle and produced by Unformula Films, the film is described as an emotional action thriller set against the backdrop of the Gond tribal community, with Rashmika playing a Gond woman at the centre of the story. The project is currently slated for a theatrical release in 2026.
The film arrives at what is arguably the busiest and highest-profile stretch of Rashmika’s career to date. Alongside Mysaa, she is also set to star opposite Vijay Deverakonda in the period drama Ranaballi, in addition to other major projects reportedly in the pipeline, including further instalments in the Pushpa franchise.
Fans Await Her Return
While Rashmika hasn’t given a specific timeline for when she’ll be back on set, her update strikes a note of quiet optimism — acknowledging the physical toll of the past few months while reassuring fans that she’s on a steady path to recovery. Given the scale of the projects currently lined up, both cast and crew, along with millions of fans, will likely be keeping a close eye on further updates as she works her way back to full fitness.
For now, Rashmika’s message seems clear: rest, patience, and a little forced downtime — however unwelcome — might be exactly what’s needed before she throws herself back into what she’s already called the most aggressive film of her career.
